Target Audience:
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of pediatric gastroenterologists and other healthcare providers involved in the care of patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Educational Objectives:
- Recognize the symptoms of carbohydrate malabsorption across the age spectrum.
- Incorporate current diagnostic strategies into clinical practice to differentiate among the various carbohydrate malabsorption disorders.
- Compare and contrast the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of carbohydrate malabsorption from other causes of functional GI symptoms seen in pediatric clinical practice, particularly in patients with suspected IBS.
