Networking on the Virtual Platform for the Annual Meeting

The best part of the virtual platform we chose for the 2020 Annual Meeting is the flexibility it allows for networking. And not just text chat and emails, but being able to set up one-on-one and small group video meetings via the platform. We know how important the networking aspect of the annual meeting is to our members, faculty and supporters and we made sure it was part of the event.

In advance of your attendance in November, we wanted to show you some videos to demonstrate how you will be able to navigate the event and, specifically, how to set up those video meetings.

Attending the annual event - this video gives you a broad overview of how the platform functions.

How to set up a one-on-one or small group video meeting.

Also, when you set up your profile on the platform, there is a text area where you can add a description. Let people know what you would like to accomplish at the annual meeting and if you are looking to network with specific groups. Give a little professional background and maybe a fun, personal tidbit or two. This will help others who might want to meet with you know more about you and maybe spark an entirely new conversation.

While the event is “live” for the week of November 1-7, you will have access to the entire meeting for a full year after those dates. You will be able to view recorded sessions and still ask questions about posters and exhibits. You will still be able to reach out to other attendees via the event platform, only releasing contact information if you choose to share it. For the cost of registration this year, you are able to get more content than the live event as well as more CME/MOC Part II. While sessions run concurrently, you can view one live and still come back to view recordings of the others. That coupled with not having hotel and travel costs added on to your attendance, we look forward to the opportunity to show off the strength and resiliency of our Society with record-breaking attendance.

While we would rather be together in person, we hope we were able to address the core items that make the NASPGHAN Annual Meeting the special event it is and we look forward to “seeing” you in November!
