Sally Schwartz, RD, CSP, LDN

Sally Schwartz has been practicing as a registered dietitian for 20 years, the last 15 years at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago with the department of  gastroenterology, Hepatology and nutrition. Sally’s  areas of expertise include Motility, Eosinophilic Esophagitis and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Sally has been involved with CPNP since 2014, holding positions as Communications Chair and President-Elect. 

Carmyn Thompson, MS, RD, CSP, LDN, CNSC

Carmyn Thompson has been practicing for over 10 years as a pediatric dietitian in Chicago. Carmyn’s areas of expertise include Gastroenterology, Short Gut Syndrome, ICU, CCU  and NICU. 


Haley Clayton, MS, RD, CSP, LD

Haley Clayton is in her 7th year of practice as a Pediatric Dietitian. She currently works at Duke Children’s hospital covering the Transitional Care Nursery and Special Infant Care Clinic. Haley's areas of speciality also include gastroenterology and feeding difficulties. She has been involved in CPNP since 2013 as part of the nutrition symposium planning committee. She has also written the Hot Topic nutrition article and the Nutrition Pearl on blenderized tube feedings.

Sarah Vermilyea,MS, RD, CSP, LD, CNSC
Clinical Practice/Research Chair
Sarah Vermilyea has been practicing pediatric dietetics for 13 years and her areas of expertise include PICU and complex care.

Wendy Elverson, RD, LDN
Communications Chair
Wendy has been practicing as a registered dietitian in the area of pediatrics for 24 years. Since 2003 she has been practicing at the Center for Nutrition in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Boston Children’s Hospital. Wendy’s areas of expertise include food allergies and gastroenterology. She has been involved with CPNP since 2015.

Abigail Lundin,  MS, RD, CSP
Media Chair

Abigail has practiced as a pediatric registered dietitian at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland for six years. Her current role is in inpatient general medicine and GI clinic. She has also held positions in the NICU, Ketogenic Diet program, and Diabetes program. She is involved with CPNP by participating as a member of the Nutrition Symposium Planning Committee, the Nominating Committee, and creating a Nutrition Pearl.

Amber Smith, MBA, RD, CD
Past President

Amber Smith has been practicing pediatric dietetics at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW) for over 13 years. She’s currently the Director of Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition at CHW, but previously specialized in Eating Disorders and GI/Feeding Team patients.
